“Take My Word for It” Audio Segments Coming to Rubin Education

    Listen up!

Rubin Education plans to incorporate 60-second audio segments to its online curriculum in winter 2019.

The segments, called “Take My Word for It with Danny Rubin,” provide educators short yet substantive “mini-mini podcasts” they can play in the classroom to set up a discussion or classroom activity.

The audio topics will complement the three major themes in the online curriculum: employability skills, entrepreneurship and leadership.

Residents of the Norfolk-Va Beach area will also hear the “Take My Word for It” segments on 89.5 WHRV, the local radio affiliate of National Public Radio (NPR).

We will post a sample audio clip in early February. The full library, organized by topic (ex: interoffice communication), will be available in the online curriculum for participating schools and organizations.

  • New “How-to” Videos Coming to the Rubin Education Online Curriculum

New “How-to” Videos Coming to the Rubin Education Online Curriculum

After business hours on Wednesday, January 19, an office building in Virginia Beach was a hub of energy and a film crew yelling, “action!”

That’s because Rubin Education founder Danny Rubin gathered a half dozen young professionals to stage a series of “how-to” instructional videos for the Rubin Education online curriculum, a learning platform that teaches students critical communication skills for the job search and the workplace.

During the three-hour video shoot, the group tackled important topics like:

    • How to shake hands and make eye contact
    • How to call employers on the phone
    • How to hold face-to-face networking conversations
    • How to answer an employer’s questions during a job interview
    • And more!

As well, every young professional “actor” looked into the camera and shared his/her best career advice for students.

The videos will be available inside the Rubin Education online curriculum by January 2019. Teachers who use the program will receive an email notification when the content is ready.

CoVaBiz Writes Glowing Review of “Wait, How Do I Write This Email?”

Many thanks to the team at CoVaBiz, a business magazine for Southeastern Virginia, for the glowing review of my book, Wait, How Do I Write This Email?

“Packed with expert guidance and real-world examples, Rubin provides millennials and seasoned professionals alike with the information they need to put their best foot forward when communicating in the virtual world.”

Entrepreneurship Academy Draws Upon Rubin’s Book, “Wait, How Do I Promote My Business?”

Rubin Education is excited to announce that Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach will use Danny Rubin’s Wait, How Do I Promote My Business? in the 2018-2019 school year.

Teachers in the school’s Entrepreneurship and Business Academy will incorporate the material into instruction. The 100+ writing templates in the book will guide students as they begin a business from scratch and promote their products or services to the school and broader community.

The announcement is even more gratifying because Rubin graduated from Kempsville High School in 2002.

Here’s what one of the Academy teachers had to say about the book:

“Wait, How Do I Promote My Business?is so practical and filled with immediate ways for our kids to understand and improve. Not only are the ideas/templates completely tangible, but each chapter gives my kids a way to use basic writing skills in efficient and concise ways.”

Since January 2018, Rubin has encouraged high schools and colleges across the country to use his books and corresponding curricula that teach strong communication skills. The addition of Kempsville High’s well-regarded entrepreneurship program is a step in the right direction.
